4 Ways To Market Yourself As a Real Estate Agent Through Video

With today’s competitive real estate industry, it’s crucial to set yourself apart from the rest. Attracting clients to work with you is the first step in becoming a successful real estate agent. With many different marketing tools to chose from, it’s hard to decide which will pack the biggest punch. A growing trend in real estate marketing is the use of video. Realtor videos are a way to sell yourself as a realtor, attract clients and build lasting relationships. Realtor videos offer a way for potential clients to get to know you, and for you to showcase your knowledge and strengths.

However, not all videos are created equal. There are many different angles in which you can approach creating a realtor video. Ultimately, what works for one real estate agent may not work for another. Its up to you to chose which style of video fits your brand, and that you believe will be most effective.

Here are a few styles of videos that may appeal to you:

1. Testimonials

One approach to a realtor video is to focus on past client’s testimonials of their experience in working with you. Consumers value testimonials as they are real-life experiences from real people. Instead of you telling them how great of a realtor you are, which may come across as phony, they are hearing it from individuals that have worked with you in the past. Testimonials showcase a powerful dynamic called “social proof”. Social proof, also known as informational social influence, occurs when people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correct behavior for a given situation. Basically, potential clients will see a positive review and this will spark their interest in working with you, as they assume their experience will be just as great. Testimonials can show a relationship fit, show results, eliminate customer doubts, as well as show off specialization and expertise. Remember to ask permission before you share anyone’s opinions in your promotional video.

2. Data Focused

Testimonial videos appeal to consumers’ emotional side, but some people value stats, numbers, and hard evidence. Appeal to these clients with a data focused realtor video. When looking at consumer buyer behavior in the real estate industry, individuals want to be sure of their choice. Therefore, giving them numbers and percentages on your successes and strengths will reinforce their decision to work with you. Are your listings selling faster than other realtors in the area? Are your clients receiving 95% of their home’s list price? Do you sell homes in less than 60 days? Do your research, crunch some numbers, and showcase them in your realtor video. It’s one thing to tell people that you are a great realtor, but it’s another to show them proof of your competencies with data.

3. Community Expert

Let’s say you focus on working in a specific area or neighbourhood in the city. You have to make yourself stand out to the individuals looking to buy or sell in that area. The ‘community expert’ realtor video will help you showcase your extensive knowledge of the area including amenities and real estate trends. Clients looking to sell their house in the area are seeking a real estate agent that knows the perks of the neighbourhood and is ready to leverage that information. On the other hand, clients looking to buy in the area want to feel that their realtor knows what amenities, price, and value they are looking for. Become a community expert, and then show off your knowledge through the ‘community expert’ realtor video.

4. Lifestyle

In a lifestyle real estate video, it’s time to get vulnerable, and tell your story. Why did you become a realtor? What motives you every day to get out of bed? Do you have a personal mantra or a favourite quote to live by? Attract potential clients by opening up, and connecting with them on an emotional level. Lifestyle videos are effective as they break down the walls between realtor and client, and allow clients to see a more stripped-down version of your personality. People want to see that their realtor is a real person just like them, and that they are not just interested in gaining a sale. They want to see WHY you do what you do, and what drives your passion for real estate.

All four of these video styles have their strengths. It’s important to go with which one feels right for you.
